"Facing the Giants"

"If you accept defeat, then that's what you"ll get......"

Revelation 3:7-8

We serve a God that opens doors that no one can shut, and shuts doors that no one can open. He says "Behold, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut."
"I know you have little strength yet you have kept my word & have not denied my name."

Once there were two farmers who desperately needed rain & both of them prayed to God.
But only one of them went out & prepared his field to received it.

Question: Which one do you think trusted God to send a rain?
Answer: Of course the one who prepared his field!

Question to reflect on : WHICH ONE ARE YOU?

THE NAME Jehovah-rophe (rapha, rophi) means Jehovah heals. It is the second of the compound names of Jehovah. The name Jehovah-jireh arose out of the incident of Jehovah's provision of a substitute in place of Isaac whom He had commanded Abraham to sacrifice upon the altar. We learned that it stands for Jehovah's great provision for man's redemption in the sacrifice of His only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who was the Lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world, and who was offered up on the very spot where Abraham had predicted--"In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen" --that is, Mount Moriah in Jerusalem, the scene of Calvary.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road your trudging seems all up hill
When funds are low & debts are high
And you want to smile but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you dfown a bit
Rest, if you must.....
But don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twist and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out
Don't give up though the pace seems so slow
You may succeed with another blow.
Successs is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you can never tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far.

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that YOU MUST NOT QUIT.....

Embrace failure. Fail forward. Fail quickly. So that you can start again.
It's the only road to success.

To your great success,

P.S.  You will succeed. I know.

How are we  blessed? Is it in receiving where we find the blessings?
This story will make  us realize the other way around......

A Brother Like That

A friend of mine named Paul received an automobile from his brother as a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it. "Is this your car, Mister?" he asked.

Paul nodded. "My brother gave it to me for Christmas." The boy was astounded. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn't cost you nothing? Boy, I wish ..." He hesitated.

Of course Paul knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the lad said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels.

"I wish," the boy went on, "that I could be a brother like that."

Paul looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, "Would you like to take a ride in my automobile?"

"Oh yes, I'd love that."

After a short ride, the boy turned and with his eyes aglow, said, "Mister, would you mind driving in front of my house?"

Paul smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Paul was wrong again. "Will you stop where those two steps are?" the boy asked.

He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car.

"There she is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn't cost him a cent. And some day I'm gonna give you one just like it ... then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that I've been trying to tell you about."

Paul got out and lifted the lad to the front seat of his car. The shining-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable holiday ride.

That Christmas Eve, Paul learned what Jesus meant when he said: "It is more blessed to give..."

Dear Gerry,

When you're making a decision, don't ask, “What will other people say?” or “What will be the easiest thing to do?” or “What will be most beneficial to me?” All those question are distractions. Only ask yourself one question: “What's the right thing to do?” If you don't know the answer, ask help from wiser friends. Once you know the answer, do it.

Love you,

P.S. Scared, Gerry? Love drives out all fear. So do everything because of love.
